Laser scanning in "Gunpowder Cellars"

This spring, SIA Latvijasmernieks.lv created a 3D point cloud for one of “Gunpowder Cellars” with a tunnel in the torrid territory of Liepaja using the Leica P20 laser scanner.

This cellar was located underground and served as an ammunition storage. The sun doesn’t shine in there, and there’s total darkness inside. On the screen of your computer, you can find deformations and shortcomings in the engineering structure without endangering human health by staying for a long time in a place with poor oxygen exchange. Our surveyors stayed in the object for only 30 minutes.

Laser scanning of SIA Latvijasmernieks.lv makes it possible to survey hard-to-reach objects from height and in places, where usual land surveying methods do not work.
